Mystery in Sitapur: Infant’s Death Linked to Monkey Attack

Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, was shaken by a chilling tragedy when a two-month-old baby lost his life under mysterious circumstances involving a troop of monkeys.

According to the family, the infant was sleeping peacefully on the bed while his relatives were busy with household work. Suddenly, a group of monkeys entered the house. Moments later, the child was missing. The family began a desperate search and followed the sound of faint cries. To their horror, they discovered the baby inside a water-filled drum on the roof.

The infant was immediately taken to a hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Police reached the spot, examined the situation, and sent the body for postmortem to confirm the cause of death.

What makes the case even more disturbing is the testimony of villagers, who claim that monkeys have been terrorizing the area for years—injuring people, damaging property, and now, allegedly causing the death of a child. Locals accuse the authorities and forest department of ignoring repeated complaints.
